Funds Raised from Hot Dog Junior Open Directed to Local Scholarship

The Abigail Suzanne Pierce Commitment to Learning and Serving Scholarship was founded in 2020, honoring Frankfort High School graduate Abby Pierce. Miss Pierce was a member of the Class of 2019 and a Purdue University West Lafayette Campus Undergraduate at the time of her death. As a student, she valued education and desired to learn more to prepare for her life goals. She knew organization, planning, and preparedness were essential to achieving them. As a Peer Tutor, she connected with her classmates and assisted them in finding their voices to persevere. Her empathy and respect were key in building supporting relationships. As a two-time 1st Team Sagamore All-Conference tennis player and team captain, Abby demonstrated a commitment to her team and teammates to be the best they could be and drive for success through practice, determination, and a positive mindset. As a friend, she was kind, caring, and loyal. Together, they found joy all around them and savored their adventures, discoveries, and contentment when together. They shared many memories that will forever be in their hearts. This scholarship was created to honor a deserving FHS student who demonstrates many of the qualities that made Abby the unique individual that she was.
An annual scholarship of $2,000 will be awarded to a graduating Frankfort Senior High School student who possesses many of the same qualities and has demonstrated a commitment to learning and serving. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required along with a completed application.
